Mariana’s Quinceañera
I hadn’t done a quince in a long time but since my best friend asked me to take some photos of his niece during the ceremony, well I just couldn’t say no. I ended up doing the party as well.
I was in South Carolina on Friday, got to California that night, and had to be back to Florida by Sunday, so it was a jammed pack weekend for me.
Saturday started off great. I arrived to the church early, made sure I talked to the helpers at the church so I knew where I could and couldn’t stand, prepped all my gear and waited patiently for the party to arrive.
The church photos were pretty basic. I only used the 16-35mm lens with the flash for these. I was very limited on where I could go. I sat on the side along with 4 other photographer and 2 videographers. All there for other Quinceañera’s.
Once we finished the ceremony, we made a quick stop at In n Out. We arrived at this cool park that I’ve shot plenty of times. We took all the photos as quickly as possible. I opted to shoot most of these with the 300mm lens. I really wanted to make them unique. They came out ok. My favorites were shot with the 16-35mm though.
By the time we got back to the house, everything was ready for the party. They had changed their big ass back yard into a dance floor with a lot of tables, a bar with a bartender and the food area.
I took a lot of photos before I finally sat down to eat and have some drinks. The final shutter was pressed when the Mariana did her surprise dance. After that I was so tired that I ended up going to bed before midnight.
