Dallas

I’ve been to Dallas a few times. I’ve explore the city and the suburbs. Dallas is your typical major city. There is history, tall buildings, night life, daily events and a variety of people. Exploring cities like this are always fun.

I have a favorite restaurant that I always go to. It’s called Breadzepplin. It’s unique in its name and the sandwiches they make. They remind me a lot of a Mexican Torta, but definitely not the same. It’s a salad stuffed inside a bread. The bread is delicious and so is the salad. This is a must eat every time I’m in town.

The rest of the downtown area is cool. There's one of the most historic places in this country, Daeley Plaza. President Kennedy got shot here. This place is always full of tourist and it’s difficult to get any good photos. Nonetheless though, it’s a place worth visiting. I don’t think I took any photos the first time I was there.

The rest of downtown is easy to navigate. Almost every street is straight, so you can just walk and explore and walk back if you think you are lost. With lost of restaurants to eat, it’s hard not to find good BBQ.

In the outskirts of the city, there is a lot of greenery. With empty lands full of trees and even some man made lakes, people love to go and ride bicycles and motorbikes through these places.

I went out on a cloudy day, hoping I could get some interesting picture of the landscape while it was cloudy. I almost got hit by 2 bikers who were extremely drunk. They swerved to avoid me and crashed. Apologized, took a long drink from their beer bottles and continued riding.

The rain came in but I decided to brave it. I took out and got my camera on the tripod ready and determined to capture lighting. After about 40 minutes I caught the first one, then the second one. There was so much lightning that it was almost impossible not to capture it on camera.

I went back to my hotel wet and extremely happy that day.

I explore some lakes at sunset too. Captured the crazy colors that the city casts on the lakes. There’s something about the city lights reflecting off the dense layer of moisture from the swampy lakes that gives off some interesting colors. Sometimes I found it really hard to believe just how vibrant the color cast from the light pollution was. It was all extremely beautiful.

Some of the empty lands were also perfect for photos at sunset. I took my fair share of photos in sketchy empty grasslands.

Whatever you want, Dallas probably has something for you.
