Flash on a f1.4
There is something magical that happened when I threw on a flash and took photos with a vintage Canon 50mm f1.4 lens. With such a bright lens and a flash to fill al the shadows, the images coming out of this combo are simply beautiful.
I pointed the flash to the ceiling and took photos as we played a board game. Everything came out sharper and brighter as soon as the flash lit up the room. Controlling the exposure was a bit difficult at first but once it’s dialed in, you don't have to worry about it anymore.
Having to focus manually is not an issue when you have slow moving objects. So most of the images came out sharp and bright right out of the camera. There was almost no editing done to photos.
Karina’s and Alyza’s skin seemed like it glowed. The lens renders super smooth so im guessing thats why skin-tones look even better. As it, Karina and Alyza always have beautiful skin so this lens just adds that extra dreamy feel to the photo.
After a few minutes though, I had to put the camera and flash away, Karina and Alyza are sensitive to light and the flash was starting to bother them. Plus the game was a lot more fun.
Too bad I cant really use this combination in any scenario I can think of besides this.
