Dia De Los Muerto 2022

It’s hard to describe how cold Las Vegas gets when it’s windy. The wind seems to make everything 15 degrees colder.

I walked into the park with a dead phone and a camera at 15 percent. Already to a bad start.

They were just about to start the Catrina competition. All the Catrinas looked amazing but a few of them stood out from the rest. It was a pretty quick competition too. I don’t think they really let the audience admire how beautiful they were.

It was extremely cold and windy, so that’s probably why they rushed.

I made sure to switch the camera to an electronic shutter so I would waste less battery power on every photo. This allowed me to shoot close to 400 photos before my camera died.

I was able to get a few portraits of a few Catrinas as I was walking out. Even gave out some business cards to them.

Turns out it was also a political event. There were a few politicians walking around. They saw I had a camera and posed for a photo, I pretend to take a photo even though my camera was dead.

I hope next year it’s not as cold so people can enjoy this a lot more.
