San Gabriel Mountain Hike

We all agreed to meet up for a hike. I choose the hike because I knew there would be a lot of great opportunities for some photos. Of course, I didn't tell them that, I just told them it was a cool hike.

We all started the hike super excited and optimistic. I think Karina was the most excited of the group. Although she was already annoyed at Emilio because he lagged it as usual.

We had two backpacks full of beer and one full of water. We were prepared for what we thought would be a 1 hour hike. Little did we know it would end up being a 4 hour hike and we wouldn’t even reach the end of it.

Granted, we did stop many of times because some of the peeps want a smoke break, and we finished both backpacks full of beer within the first 45 minutes. Plus we kept reaching the checkpoints and would decide to keep going to the next. We wanted to reach the damn bridge. No one had a clue just how far it was.

We soldiered through the hike. We had no idea what to expect, which made it that much fun. We had to cross a river, and since we didn't bring any change of clothings, we were a bit hesitant to cross. But, we decided to cross the river either way. In fact, we ended up crossing several of them.

Together as a group, simple discomforts, just doesn't seem that much of a problem.

Even so, we quickly realized that this hike was a lot tougher than we thought it’d be. Our stamina was put to the test and no matter how much we pushed on, we quickly realized we would have to turn back before we hit the top because were were not going to make it back to our cars before sunset.

By the time, we reached the cars, we were all so hungry that some of us became cranky. Mainly Karina and Yvonne. With a long road full of swirls ahead of us, we drove as fast as safely possible to the closets In n Out.

I’m pretty sure everyone fell asleep as soon as they got home.
