Moody Football Photos

I’ve been getting a lot of moody sports photos on my feed lately so I decided to try a shoot like that. I know a young football player and after a short talk with him and his mother we agreed to meet up that same day.

There was a few empty fields close by so we headed to them. I had 1 flash so I had to be very careful on how I used it. Lucky for me, most of the field was covered by shade by the time we showed up to shoot.

I used a bare flash on most of the photos because I wanted something really punchy with a lot of contrast. I was thinking of making most in black and white with a few exceptions so I knew that the equipment I had was going to be enough to get some good results.

The model was willing to do everything necessary for the photos and he had his game face on the whole time. We shot up until it got dark and then called it a day.

I was extremely happy with the photos before I even imported them on the computer. I know they were happy with them too.
