Midday Pumpkin Patch

Anyone who has done any sort of serious photography knows that the worst time to take photos is at midday when the sun is so high and bright that harsh shadows become a pain. They tell you to stay away from these times because photos aren’t flattering.

Sometimes though, you just gotta go for it and try something different.

Normally the pumpkin patch is something that most kids are excited to go to, but this year, Alyza wasn’t as happy. I think it had to do with the heat and her long wavy hair that was making her a little warmer than usual.

We arrived at the patch midday so it wasn’t as crowded as it normally is. With her long wavy hair and the Moana costume, Alyza got exceptionally more compliments than usual. She never knows how to react to them, so she just stares and keeps walking. Karina always laughs at her when this happens.

The harsh light actually looked cool with the whole environment and her costume. The colors were still bright and colorful and not washed out like most midday photos are. Even the sun flares were coming out great. As far as midday shoots go, this one is definitely a success.

Everywhere we walked, the colors were great. The harsh light didn’t bother me at all. It bothered Alyza a bit so she had to put on her glasses, but besides that, everything was great.

Karina wore dark colors so she kind of stood out in the middle of all the browns and oranges. She looked extremely beautiful and attractive though. I only managed to take a few photos of her though since it’s become a tradition to take photos of Alyza at this patch.

We did the normal things we always do in the patch, but this time we did them faster because of the heat.

We headed out within 20 minutes…
