Malibu’s Cloudy Skies
Most people think that there are always sun and warmth at the beach. In fact, if you watch anything produced by Hollywood, you might think that the sun is always glued over Malibu Beach.
The sad truth is that the beach can also be gloomy and grey. But, unlike most other places, even in days like this, there is still life at the beach. Plenty of surfers come out and look for those mischievous waves.
I in the other hand, just went to enjoy the cold wet breeze.
Driving through LA is always a hectic and stressful experience, but it has its pleasant views. With the sun shining on these concrete and glass giants, I had no clue what to expect the weather to be fit the next few hours.
But I also didn't care.
As soon as we parked, the clouds had blanketed the skies. Flat light all around us. No problem. Shooting at high ISO’s isn’t much of an issue with this camera.
As soon as I hit the sand, the shoes and socks came off. The cold sand hit my feet, and everything felt so comforting. This path is a bit of a hidden one. Having to go behinds houses to hit the beach felt special somehow. It’s not a tourist place, so everyone here is a local. Well, at least most are.
I found a cool spot to sit and enjoy the view. People coming in and out of the pathway, surfers getting in and out of the water, this place was full of life. A little-hidden area away from the thick crowds is something as rare in this town as freezing cold day in summer.
The photos came out ok. I wasn’t too focused on the best compositions nor the best subjects. I just wanted to capture the things I came across.
I don't find myself coming all the way out here much, but it’s definitely something I might consider again, in the future.
