Houston, Texas

Houston is such a huge city. There's really no simple way to describe the city either. It has areas where it’s old and dirty, areas where it feels like your living in the woods, areas in the middle of the big tall buildings and then you have areas where it’s really fancy and nice.

I spent 3 weeks in this city and I had more than enough. It rained almost every single day that I was here. With small breaks between the rain, I explored and took photos. Sometimes even while it was raining.

The downtown area is really nice. They have trolly’s to take you around. They’re cobble stone roads all around. Big buildings that you can't get in. It seems like there was just a few restaurants in the area and they were always packed full of people drinking and having a good time.

I found there were a lot of cats in every neighborhood here. I must have taken 50 photos of different cats. They were all friendly and would approach me as if they wanted their photo taken. Which I did of course.

I had some pizza that was really good. It was probably the best food I had the whole time I was in the city.

I talked to a few locals that told me some cool spots to go to, but they weren't really that cool. Nothing out of the ordinary. One guys wouldn’t stop talking to me for over 15 minutes. Every time I tried to cut the conversation short he would ignore it and keep talking about his religion.

At some point there was 2 days without rain so I decided to drive east to hit the beach. It was a long drive that was kind of disappointing.  The beaches aren't really that nice. 1 of the beaches was closed off to swimming. But you were still able to fish. It wasn't a total bust though, I did get some nice photos.

I found a pretty cool cemetery. It was really old and they were not adding new graves to it. The groundskeeper was just maintaining the ones already in there. I found that a bit weird but I guess it just adds to the creepy factor.

I kept going down town to explore even until the last day. I think I got pretty familiar with the area. Sadly, there really wasn't much to do here. I took photos with my phone by the end of the trip. I didn’t really feel like it was worth taking my Canon around.

I also got covid the last few days so I was stuck in a hotel for a little longer.
