Eric and Steph’s Engagement

Sometimes shoots can be a bit difficult with finding places to shoot, but Steph had everything planned out for her photos that made things really easy for me. She knew exactly the style, colors, poses and locations were all planned out for me.

We arrived a few hours before sunset and began our walk along Pasadena. The location has so many beautiful places to shoot, but we had a list of where to go. The location was great, the lighting was great, and people were easy to shoot. The only issue that I had was that my wides prime lens was a 50mm, which is normally saves my day, but on this shoot, it proved to be a challenge.

Most of the cool locations had low light, and since we were shooting natural without any flashes, it because a little difficult in some areas. None the less we managed to shoot everything that was on the list.

After editing, I realized that I forget to look at the whole environment for objects that can be distracting.  Normally, I can center people around objects really well, but sometimes I get too confident and want to move the shoot forward and I don't notice things that aren’t centered properly.

I can also get better putting the subjects in the frame. It becomes a bit difficult to edit lines in photoshop sometimes. Slowing down will definitely help for these things, so it’s something that I have to work on in future shoots.

Besides that, I think the photos came out pretty good.
