It’s not often that I go into a shoot with no idea on how the final images will look like, but that's exactly what I did on this shoot.  After talking and planning it for a few days, they decided it would be best if we just wing it in hopes that it would be a more organic and natural mood.

As nice as it sounds, it was exceptionally hard for me to try to get that mood captured. Being my first time being in charge of one actual model, one girl who has taken so many selfies that she practically is a model and two girls who have never done anything like this before; it was safe to assume that I had my work cut out for me.

We all arrived at the location at the same time. We had about 2 hours of sunlight and about ten outfits changes each, plus a special appearance from a dog later on in the evening.

The location was perfect even as the sun was setting. I shot everything in natural light so I didn't have to worry about carrying around any flash and adding to the complexity already ahead of me.

We never really got in the grove of things, but we managed to get some decent shots. The images will mainly be going on Instagram and used for other social media advertisements so I don't have to do too much editing.  Specially since the mood is supposed to be natural.

Everyone had great attitudes and was willing to do anything to get the shot and that made all the difference. I only shot with the 50mm lens since there had been so many people who needed to be in the shot and we wanted to capture more of the environment. That 50mm on the crop sensor was actually closer to an 85mm but it’s all I had to work with.

I think we got decent shots and the location is definitely one of my favorites.
