Cloudy River Walks
When you think of a cloudy day, what are the first things that come to mind?
Grey, sad, gloomy, lazy…
Completely the opposite of what this photo shoot shows.
It was raining and cold when I met up with my friend. We got in the car and drove up the mountain. The rain stopped so we weren’t as scared going through the thin wavy roads.
Our first stop was a random pit stop along the road. We found some cool flowers, and grass and we began to shoot. The lighting was so flat, so I decided to increase the contrast on the images and put a little bit of vibrance to the yellows, oranges and reds. This made all the difference.
We headed to the campsite and illegally parked. We didn't expect to drive so far up the mountain, but we were committed to get some better photos. It was a 10 minute hike to the river. After sitting down and having a few drinks while a small rain shower passed us, we decided to take off our shoes and walk across the river. We were lucky that it was low, and we just got wet up to our ankles.
It ended up being a lot of fun, and we took so many great photos.
By the time, we walked back, the sun started peaking through the clouds finally. But, this was short lived as a few minutes into the drive, the rain came down even harder.
Slow and steady was the name of the game all the way down the mountain.
