Pass Time On A Cloudy Day

We had a few hours to kill with nothing to do. It being a cloudy and fairly cold day, you kind of just want to stay home and cozy up. Specially if you have a great cuddle partner like I do.

But Karina wanted to have a small photo shoot and explore a new area we found out a few weeks back. So of into the cold we went.

I hadn’t really shot on a cloudy day before, but I figured it’d be easy to since we could pretty much shoot anywhere and get decent flat lighting. So I decided to use both the Canon and the Sony again.

We found so many cool spots. From gardens to benches to indoor picnic areas, there was just so many spots to take photos in. Switching cameras was a lot easier than constantly switching lenses.

We must have only explored about a fourth of the area but it was so much fun. Cloudy days have easily become my favorite to shoot in. And this area is also a personal favorite now.

Karina is naturally beautiful so it’s not hard to get a good photo from her, but the whole ambience made everything easier today. Plus she is starting to get her modeling poses down. I’m so proud of her. You can really tell she gets in the zone for most of the photos now. I love that she started to experiment more with her hands. It makes the photos more dynamic.

I think my favorite shot’s where of her sitting on the chair, which was her idea, and the one of her next to a heart someone half ass drew on a wall.

The hardest part was trying to figure out what editing style to stick to. I landed on 2 and switched between both. Even decided to make 2 presets for the styles too. Cloudy Flat and Cloudy Pop.

This day is probably the most productive that I’ve had in a long time. Good choices were made this day.
